Gina, we're so sorry your Thanksgiving was a turkey, so to speak. Dental work is bad enough, but dental work that ultimately cancels Thanksgiving is cruel. So glad that things are better. We probably gained your pounds for you.

Gina, I'm so sorry to hear about your hospital stay. Hopefully, you can make up all that missed eating at Christmas. Take care, friend.

Thanks again to everyone.

Sherry - did I miss a post about your new avatar? I can see you are on a boat/ship of some type. What's the scoop? BTW - great photo also.

Prayers Coming

Prayers Coming

Gina, So sorry for all of that! Glad you are home, and hope the threat of infection is behind you. Sorry you missed the holiday feast! I'll share the best part of mine, and while the food was wonderful, the best thing was sitting next to my newly veteran nephew. He and his girlfriend had dinner with us. It was such a joyous blessing to have him back. You mentioned simple pleasures you've been enjoying, and the hugging of your cats. I don't have any pets of my own, but do love them. Most of my nieces and nephews have pets, and a number of them shared the holiday with us. What a gift they are! Hope you get some turkey dinner today. Brian

Gina, such a way to spend Thanksgiving. My extraction went so smoothly I was hoping yours would do the same. Anyway, I'm glad you are back home and not looking at another OHS from endocarditis damage. I've had leftovers for lunch and had been thinking how I like the leftovers better than Thanksgiving dinner itself. I love spending the time with family and friends but the meal itself? ...not so much. Monday it is back to disciplined eating again to get the pounds off before they take up permament residence.

Gina,

I will most certainly keep you in my prayers. I hope you continue to get better and faster and sooner than expected :) . I can relate to Thanksgiving in the hospital. Your reminder gave me another reason to be thankful. I was in the hospital over Thanksgiviing for my chest surgery in 82 :( . Most hospital food is bad to begin with but but having to eat it for a holiday meal really stinks. Heres hoping you never have to eat another meal in a hospital again.

Karl

I'm sorry to read that you had a less than perfect Thanksgiving experience, Gina. I am glad that it was nothing serious and hopefully you'll not encounter anything like this again.:)

Gina:

Glad you are home and feeling better.
Yeah, hospital food usually leaves something to be desired.

My husband, his brother & I spent Christmas week in 1989 at a hospital in Fort Worth while their dad was in ICU after his 2nd OHS (MVR repeat, other stuff done). That Christmas Day we were stuck trying to find dinner that day. We stumbled upon Harris Methodist, the largest hospital in Fort Worth, which was GIVING AWAY :D :D :D dinner to families of patients. Well, R.C. wasn't a Harris patient, but we played like he was. (His hospital's cafeteria was closed that day.)
It was the oddest Christmas Day I've had to date.
Don't remember anything about the food, other than it was FREE!

Gina,
Glad you're feeling better and home again. It's amazing how much trouble teeth can cause. Is it our illness or just the time of life?
Glad to hear you're home.
Barbara

Hi Gina:) I just wanted to send ~hugs~ your way and tell you that I hope your feeling better and I will come over and cook you Thanksgiving dinner any day of the year!!!:D Please know your in my heart.

I actually got to missing leftovers so much I went out yesterday and bought a turkey breast (I had already bought all the other stuff before I went in the hospital). So we had our Thanksgiving dinner yesterday and leftovers tonight.:D :D :D

I am very happy now and, even more so, because of all the wonderful friends I have on VR.com.

Thank you so much for caring.

Oh Gina! I am so sorry to hear you've had such a miserable time of it with your extraction and the ensuing drama! I don't know how I missed this thread, but I'll try to make up for lost time wishing you well and thinking of you often.

Take care.

I picked the right time to read this thread...
now that it has a happy ending :D ...

Sorry you had to delay your Turkey feast.,

I hope your extraction-site is healing well now after all the attention it demanded.

Hey Buckeye G,

Sorry to hear about the MAJOR tooth issue. Glad that all has ended without any further issues.

John & Joann
