Hi and thank you to everyone for their kind thoughts for Ben's pending surgery. It's so fantastic to see he has an international network of support.

I am pleased to report that Ben's operation went exactly as planned yesterday and he is now recovering in ICU at St Vincent's Private Hospital in Sydney.

I spoke to him late last night after visiting hours just as they had taken his breathing tube out. And now, I'm on my way to see him.

He asked me prior to surgery to post you all an update on his progress. Noel, we do hope that your surgery was a success and look forward to hearing your update soon.

Good luck! He'll be fine. A rough few days, very uncomfortable, but then a gradual healing. Be kind, as I'm sure you are. He will have love in his eyes for you for a long, long time.:D
