Going in tomorrow morning, Friday the 13th (at an un-Christian hour) for the AVR.

Thanks to all the good folks on this board, I feel pretty ready for the job at hand. I?m also ready for one or two surprises, if they get thrown at me. I already had one: my primary caregiver got the flu and had to bow out at the 11th hour. I got a nursing service (+$+$+$+) to fill in.

Also, my Card, who promised to ?come and see me every day?, will be out of town this weekend. He?ll be back on Monday, hopefully in time to see me before they discharge me.

Well, MacArthur said that no battle plan survives the first shot. Let?s hope that those are the only glitches.

See you guys on the other side of the Mountain.

All mine were night jumps (eyes closed)

Good luck, you'll be back doing the airborne shuffle soon enough.

Hey Tom,
I've done them both, AVR and freefall, and in my estimation, they're about equal in terms of apprehension and execution!;) ;)

I don't envy you your date, but it will always be easy to remember and will give a little extra pizzaz to your story!:)

God bless, Godspeed, and we'll look for you on the other side of this.

Prayers sent with you Tom! Post and let us know how things went and are going as soon as you feel up to it!

Best of luck!!
Prayers and best wishes for a smooth jump - and landing!!!!!

Best wishes Tom. We look forward to hearing that all went well. Godspeed!

Good Luck!

Good Luck!

All the best to you!! We'll be rootin and tootin for you in the AM!!

Wishing you the best, Tom. Don't worry about the glitches. I thought it was fun to meet some other cardiologists and harass them with all my questions. I got different surgeons checking in on me after a few days, too. All part of the program.

As far as the beaucoup dinero for post surgery care..... what the heck is saving for a rainy day all about, anyway!! It will be well worth every nickel, I'll wager. You won't feel like you're putting anyone out and can ask for anything since you're paying for it.

I had to laugh at the "un-Christian" hour!! Imagine waking up a "not a morning guy" spouse and a teen-age daughter at 4am!!! :p

I still say Friday the 13th is a great day! Will be thinking of you all day!

Godspeed!

:) Marguerite

You Army guys, jumping out of perfectly good airplanes for no reason at all. And they don't even have tailhooks ! How do you land them????

Hey good luck and God speed. You will come out on the other side stronger and better.

Landing them must be classified as I have never been appraised of the process...
