Greetings, Friends,
I left Seton Hospital in Austin, Texas about 11:00 this morning. I am now
"recouping" at Lake LBJ at my mother's home for a week until an appointment in Austin one week from today. Then, we will travel on to Abilene. I have survived with many prayers and kind words of family and friends. Thank you everyone. I had quite a few heart abnormalities that were discovered during the Ross, went into heart block; hence the permanent pacemaker. I am doing well now and will continue walking, breathing and resting. My heart will always be thankful for the friends I have met on this site and for all of the encouragement and support you have given me!
From my heart to yours,
Terry:p

Hey Terry -
So glad to hear that everything is going well. I'm 11 days post op now and finding this is such an interesting time of mostly 'being' rather than 'doing' - life has given us this slow-down time of focusing on the basics - breathing, walking, eating, resting, and of course love. My thoughts and prayers are with you for a continued smooth recovery period.

My heart to yours,
Liz

Terry, I'll bet you're really glad to be outta there. Glad you posted & let us know how you're doing. Sorry you had the extra treats thrown in with the ohs, but I guess you might as well get it all done at once.

Take care, keep in touch, my good thoughts & prayers are with you for a boring recovery.

Terry:

Good to hear you're out of the hospital. And what a great place to recover -- at Lake LBJ. Are you close enough to the lake to dip your feet in the water? (The dock at my sister's lake house in East Texas is truly high & dry -- party barge is resting on dry ground.)

Take care of yourself and "enjoy" your recuperation. (I actually DID enjoy mine, staying at my parents' home for 2 weeks.)

Welcome Home!

Welcome Home!

Terry,

Welcome Home... so glad to hear that you are on the other "brighter" side of the mountain and that your recovery is going well! Please keep in touch and enjoy this down time.

So glad to hear from you!!

So glad to hear from you!!

Isn't it nice over here on this side of the mountain? I still can't get over the reality that Adam's surgery is done and past. It seems there is such a build-up- then it's just all over with. I am so glad you are now doing well- will be interested in hearing more about the specifics of what they found. You perked my curiosity. For now- just take it easy, and enjoy being spoiled. It will all be over with before you know it.

Hello Terry. So glad that you are home and feeling positive about your experience, even though you encountered some bumps in the road.

Wishing you all the best as you wind your way through recovery. Some days you take a few steps backwards, and that's okay. I'm at exactly 12 weeks out today, and the days are still marked with improvements.

I know what Adamsmom means when she says she can't get over the reality that it's over. People say, aren't you relieved? It's not all about relief....there's a lot of amazement that goes into it too!! It's somewhat hard to explain to those who haven't been through it. :)

Take care. Best wishes for an uneventful recovery.

Good ole Abilene 'prettiest town I've ever seen'

Terry,
Okay, I HAVE seen prettier towns! But, do you remember the jingle?:p
Sounds like you have a great place to spend your first week. I'm happy your doing well.
I'm also from Abilene!
My surgery is Thursday 13th. Maybe we can figure out if we know each other when I get home!!
God Bless;) ,

Congrats and welcome to this side of the mountain. Sorry about the slight setbacks but it sure beats the heck out of the alternatives. I'm sitting here almost a year after my surgery and reading your thread almost makes me sorry my recovery is over. Is that weird or what? I'm in no hurry to go thru it again but I guess a part of me is wishing I was still being fussed after. Enjoy the slower pace of life and take things at your own pace.

Best Wishes

Terry,
I'm glad you're at your mom's recuperating. It will take time to recover, but you've got a good start on it.
Let us know how you're feeling.

Hi Terry

Glad the mountain climb is over and you're headed down the slope.....enjoy your rest and recuperation.....take it slow and easy and don't try too much. Best wishes for a VERY speedy recovery, especially after the problems you've had to deal with.
