It just doesn't get any better than this! Seriously - a rare event for summer. Might just have the been the finest conditions I've ever sailed in for late June.

TSs ran on through early this morning, and we had nothing but sunshine and WIND. Started out around 10 AM with 12 knots, got up to 15 knots by noon and then 20 knots for the rest of the day. 3 foot waves -- Sloop John B. conditions.

We did great. Had Team Racing with five 3-boat teams from around the area. My club put up two teams. Each team raced 4 times and sat out one. But the good news is that I could have raced another 4. Can't believe how strong I am at this stage, and Voila!! -- no pain whatsoever. YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Gina - A Flying Scot. We've built our fleet up to about 30 boats now.

I think I remember seeing something where you used to race Stars. The grand-daddy of all one-designs!

Yes, I did used to race a Star - what a boat. Since we did lake racing there was not many races that were in storm conditions. However, there was one that was high wind, pouring rain, and the best race I was ever in - and we won!!! We had the boat going so fast the bailers actually sucked the water out which is unusual for a Star (at least in my experience). I always felt safe in the boat because of the huge keel. I never heard of a Star that tipped over.

Congrats on your race!!

I love sailing on the Chesapeake Bay! My friend has a beautiful yacht out on Annapolis and it's a wonderful sailing experience! Here is a boat race I took a photo of from the the boat I was on! :D Great experience!! I went about a week before my eblation in Nov. so I was a bit tired, but the day was perfect, and the sunset was gorgeous!!

Marguerite - yes I did wake up feeling good - but part of it (maybe most of it) was because I took 3 motrin before going to sleep - ha. I learned that trick a long time ago when I realized I was no longer a 20 year old.

However - I am going to have to give up the old ibupropins because of what I just read today in the newspaper (Dr. Donohue column);

"I take Motrin for arthritus and also have high blood pressure. A nurse tells me that people with high bp shouldn't take Mortrin. Why? -- J.J.

Anti-inflammatory medicines like Motrin, Naprosyn, Daypro, Aleve, and Idocin can cause fluid retention and raise blood pressure. If your blood pressure is controlled even though you're taking Motrin, you can continue to use it. The blood pressure rise doesn't happen to everyone."

Well -- I've noticed more fluid retention the last few weeks that I've been back taking Ibupropin. And of course I am always battling high bp. How come I don't hear about this stuff from my own docs?
