Hello.....
Gads!!....3 1/2 weeks ago, I had open heart surgery....(2nd one and I would rather go thru childbirth!!) Thhey replaced my mechanical valve for a porcine....they think I won't get as many infections....and repaired my tricuspid...
It has been 7 yrs since my last surgery and they have made advancements just in the 7 yrs.
Right after my surgery....4 days afterward...I collapsed in a public restaurant.....my heart went into A-fib and was beating 250 per min.
They had to send me back to the hospital and cardiovert me.....(shock me back into rhythm)....they are not sure if I will need a pacemaker.....I have been in and out of the hospital since January....and it seems like I know all the Dr's/nurses/EMTs by their first name.....and wondering when I will stop having to go to the hospital.....?...(maybe when they turn me into the Bionic woman?)
I start cardiac rehab this coming Friday....and it is 3 times a week wfor 6 weeks. I hope it makes me feel better!! I feel like such a whiner....but I have better days than others.....I mean....when I end up in the hosp....have a nurse ask...."Do you feel depressed?"...Only situational....but wouldn't everyone else feel depressed too if they have a little 2 yrs old girl who begs...."Please don't go with the Angels yet Mommy!!"
Although, I am feeling alittle more energetic than I did last week.....and getting better each day.....there are just days when I want to whine and complain.....just good to have someone listen.
I was fired from my job in Mar/Apr.....they didn't want to wait for my surgery....they had to write me a letter of termination for 'quality of work' can't say for 'health reasons' illegal to do so....but going to fight for unemployment next week.....(couldn't apply for unemployment until am ready and able to go back to work)....and BOY do my former employers fight unemployment!!

Thanks for listening to me!! :)

Congratulations Lisa

They need to find a way to protect employees from termination with false causes. They did the samething to a friend of mine and I'm sure many other people as well.

Lisa,
Sounds like 2006 has not been very kind to you other than you are still around.
Best of luck to you for the unemployment - these companies need a few strong kicks.
Hope things settle in for you.

Wishing you the best of luck, some employers havent a conscience, fight them tooth and nail..

Gadzooks, Lisa - what a mess you've had!

I started cardiac rehab at 3 weeks out - it was wonderful for me. I was totally exhausted after each session, but it sure sped up my recovery. It was also great to talk to all those folks. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. And you'll most likely be the youngest in there :D which is always kind of fun.

Best of luck.

Lisa, as Rosanne Rosannadanna used to say "It's always sumthin' " I wish you luck with the unemployment. Unfortunately, the days are gone when employers actually cared about their employees.

Lisa. Hopefully this new valve will do the trick! Sorry you've been through so much.

I am in cardiac rehab right now (second week). I didn't start until 6 weeks out due to an insurance snafu and some other little bumps in the road. Georgia is right. It is a very good thing. And it is a very reassuring place since you are there with others in your situation, recovering from something heart related. And the PT's are trained to get you where you need to be if there is any problem. They don't push you unless you can be pushed. It is a fun atmosphere. My energy level was far better at 6 weeks than 4 weeks, so you will most certainly notice an improvement as you wind your way through this.

Good luck. Your little girl will have a new phrase, soon.....mommy...let's go outside and play! Don't worry! :) You will have more than enough energy!!

Hi Lisa, Just wanted to wish you well and hope that you don't have to make any more trips to the hospital! Boy, you have been through the mill.

Good for you to fight for your rights! And shame on your former employer for their attitude and actions. Fight on!

Take care,

Lisa,
Well as they say when it rains it pours and it seems like you've had more than your fair share. I can't believe that your employer deserted you in your time of need. I hope that you get your unemployment! More importantly I truly wish you a speedy and uneventful recovery so that you and your daughter can have many fun days in the sun!

Take Care!
Susie
