    Gastric Bypass Surgery and Coumadin

Has anyone had gastric bypass surgery while on coumadin. What are the issues or problems? I am looking into the surgery and I am on coumadin because of my mechanical aortic valve. Not only does the bleeding or clotting risk concern me, but also the adjustment of coumadin dosing after the...

    Ladies--bra, underwear in hospital??

I was told to wear a bra 24/7 after surgery and I did. You just need one that is comfortable. The nurses said it didn't matter what kind as long as it worked. The hospital provided a special bra for OHS patients too. To cut down on the rubbing of the bra/band on your incision, wrap gauze...

    Tart Cherry Juice and Coumadin?

Has anyone heard about the anti inflammatory benefits of tart cherry juice? I want to try it, but I am not sure if there is an interaction or affect on coumadin dose. If anyone knows, please comment. Thanks, Barb (CRM-mom)

    Vision problems post op?

I had the same thing from right after surgery to about 4 months afterwards. I would periodically get flashing lights that lasted about 15 mins. and went away gradually. My primary care doctor and my opthalmologist told me these were probably occular migraines like others have said in the...

Almost a year post op & still sad

Hang in there! You have come to the right place for support. You are not a whiner and I agree with the others who have posted already. My doctor told me it can take a year to recover from the OHS, and you have had much more to deal with. It all takes time to recover. Hugs and prayers to you!

    one week out

I had the aches in the shoulders (more like pain) for about a month or so. Massage works wonders and so do warm blankets (got those from the nurse in the hospital). Best of luck!

Anyone experienced "flashers" in their vision post surgery?

Thank you all for the posts regarding the flashers. I will check in with the opthalmologist. I see him every 6 months for monitoring of occular pressure related to glaucoma. He does the dialated exam and checks my retina each time as well. From what many of you say it may be occular...
