I want a flatter tummy too :(...thats really what I want to gain out of this here throw-down....Karlynn, you seem to have found the elusive dedication to exercise that I have lost. Have you done any specific ab-toning exercises or is it just good luck that has given you this reward?

To our 2 big boys Cooker and Superbob...you both have done marvellously well in the last few weeks...CONGRATULATIONS!

Too bad I dont have access to those spas in Europe where they put you to sleep for 1-2 weeks and only give you IV vitamins , and do passivce range of motion exercises for you, and then.... you wake up 10-20 lbs lighter:D
I cant believe that I read that in a Jacqueline Susann novel as a teen, I cant
believe I read those books at that age, talk about improper reading material
for kids!

Don't know if I would trust them........:D....now, if a place like that was run by chimps.....:D

Sounds like a Texas enema.......give a laxative and you bury em in a matchbox:D;)

Ton, I think it's the exercises I do on my Total Trainer (which doesn't look like SB's) that are doing the ab work. Trying to describe it, the bench is at a bit of an incline and I'm lifting and pulling my legs up and down. I'm afraid the only thing to get the stomach flatter is exercise. Do some hunting on the internet. I'm sure you'll find illustrated exercises. Then ya just gotta do it.

I should probably post a photo of the coaches that came along with my Total Trainer.

The one on the right is my regular coach. The one on the left fills in when he can't make it. They often fight over who gets to coach me. The cost of food can get a bit prohibitive, but we manage.

If Angelina serves the wine and cheese, Superbob wants to be there also! :p

For Father's Day, kiddies and grandkiddies are taking Superbob and Mrs. Superbob to a lovely lodge in the mountains that has renowned vittles -- tons of Sunday food! (As my 9-year-old granddaughter said when she called up to invite us, "Regarding Father's Day...." "Regarding" -- yikes, how fast they grow up!

Anyway for Throw Down purposes, this may not be so good -- however, since we have a Marine Corps drill instructor as our Ref this week, Superbob should be able to work it off in the coming week. :p

Ugh! I just got back from our anniversary weekend and I feel FAT. I don't even dare to step on the scale!

We left Friday morning to drive south to a secluded cabin on a ranch. Stopped for breakfast at Jack in the Box (mistake #1)... We did not eat lunch, since "breakfast" wasn't until 9:30. After arriving at our cabin we made a run to a Walmart for breakfast provisions, then went to the ONE local restaurant and ate an appetizer of olive spread on toast points, entree of Chicken Roulades w/ side veggies. (ate the WHOLE thing), shared a desert of white chocolate bread pudding. Next morning we made eggs and canadian bacon bagel sandwiches. Again, skipped lunch and at at "the" restaurant had a caesar salad and chicken fried stead w/side veggies (no desert, at least!). This morning we had our breakfast sandwiches again and headed back north to come home. We stopped on the way at Jack in the Box to have lunch. I ate a BBQ Sirloin burger and two tacos. I've felt "yuck" ever since. :(

Our activities over the weekend consisted of sitting in the car, sitting in the cabin, and sitting on a horse... I don't think that did much to burn off all the food. This week I REALLY need to be more vigilant about eating better and exercising every day. I feel totally gross. :(

Sorry for the whine... Bubba, maybe you can "motivate" me to get on track? ;)

Hey...it was your anniversary weekend!!!!! don't feel bad about a thing...just get back on track as soon as you can!!!:D

Two mighty fine looking trainers you have there Karlynn! :D...

Looking at your machine is making my back ache....I take it you dont have lower back problems....Its good to hear that you have managed to flatten the tummy as this gives me hope.

I s'pose this means I should go get myself re-enrolled at Hydrotherapy, at least that should help my back and if I do the exercises properly I may manage to firm the tummy a little too. Now I better go try find suitable swimwear in the middle of winter. That should delay the inevitable for another week or so!:D

That's the rub Ton - I do have lower back issues. It has actually helped strengthen it. I always keep my back pressed to the cushion and raise my shoulders and hold my head (kind of like I'm going to do an old fashioned sit up, but I don't move the shoulders. It helps keep my back pressed to the board.) My nephew who is a personal trainer (6'6" tall and very good looking - never has problems getting clients.) told me that it will actually help strengthen my lower back muscles.

However, I wouldn't try it with out an okay from a doc or trainer.

I'm going on vacation this week. Don't know if I'll have internet access in a log cabin in the Adirondacks, so you may not hear from me for a while. I'll promise to get a run in every day, but what I'll be eating, well there's the hitch.

Have a great time :D....eat whatever the heck you want.....like I told Mary...it's vacation not starvation :D:D
