    Question about Anuerysm symptoms

dont go by what the nurse says, even if she is right. Go to your GP and get it assessed and they can always arrange for a referral to surgeon... no harm done, and peace of mind. Anxiety does create unusual pain.

CT Angiography vs Cardiac Computed Tomogrpahy (CT) scan

What is the difference between a CT Angiography and Cardiac Computed Tomography? I have had a CT Angiography done on my neck vessels and chest, and now they want me to have a Cardiac Computed tomography to check my coronary arteries. I am deeply concerned about the number of radiation I have...

Hi, I am seeing a surgeon on Tuesday along with my CT scan films, and I have an anuersym in my ascending aortic artery as well as my brachiocephalic artery (innominate). According to my results my ascending aortic is stable, whereas we are not sure about the brachiocephalic artery. I also plan...

Stop Warfarin before Flu Shot ?

This advice from a cardiologist? I can't believe it. I would have thought they would be very educated on coumadin/warfarin. Did he/she explained why it was necessary for a flu shot? Seriously I believe I manage my health better than my cardiologist!

    Heart Surgery & Coumadin

I have been on Coumadin for the last 20 years since having my Aortic valve replaced, however when I had surgery four years ago for a cochlear implant, I went off Coumadin five days prior to surgery, and once my INR went down to 2.0, started the heparin injections, then the night before surgery...

    Okay another Question: Comfort Level

I agree with Ross. My ascending aorta measured 4.6cm August 2008 and am due for another scan in August and even though I have a team of surgeons in Christchurch, New Zealand, as my brachiocephalic measures 3.0cm as well. I have been advised by a transplant surgeon in Australia that I should...

    Heart Racing/Aneurysm - Related?

Since my anuerysm was diagnosed in February 2008 with a measurement of 4.6cm I have been stable since, and my next scan is in August. My cardiologist has advised they wont look into surgery until I am 5.5cm. I strongly disagree with this, as I think any chance of growth calls for surgery...

    Cough caused by aneurysm?

Hi Tonia Yes I have been quiet haven't I? My last scan in Aug reveals I am stable...therefore no surgery on the agenda. My cardiologist reckons they will consider it when I reach 5.5cm, which I totally disagree with. At the moment, I am keeping good health, which is a bonus. Although my Bp...

    Cough caused by aneurysm?

hey thanks for that. I only go on medication when it gets so bad that it is disrupting my sleep and I get exhausted. Its interesting to see that others have had the same thing, yet my specialists dont seem to want to dwell on it, guess its cos I am a complex case!
