Is it normal for echo's to be THIS abnormal post-op?

I had an echo done after my surgery 4 yrs ago. See below for details. My cardio and surgeon were both surprised that I had moderate/sever aortic regurg. I thought I was headed for a reop but three months later the echo showed moderate to moderate/severe. 6 months later it showed the same and...

    weight training?

My Cardio told me that I can lift weights but to do lights weights and high reps. I do 20-30 reps per set after swimming a mile and although I'm not as muscular as I was in the past, I like my workouts.

    BAV and Aneurysms

Larry, Dr. Raissi did my surgery almost exactly three years ago. I interviewed several docs before choosing him. He is a great guy in addition to being a great surgeon. I still speak with him often and would highly recommend him; although others, in their responses above, have mentioned...

    Need some information

Barbara, What is your BP and what meds are you on? Along with some of the things mentioned above very low BP and a reaction to some meds may cause these symptoms.

Pains when I sneeze, cough, etc...

Thanks for the comments. To me it doesn?t feel like a valve issue. It?s hard to tell. I?m going to see my cardio on Monday. Brian, why did you get your sternal wires removed? Sounds like you?re pretty active as well. Thanks for the compliment on my photos. Gina, do you know why all of a...

Pains when I sneeze, cough, etc...

Hi Everyone. I'm now 2+years post op for a resection of my ascending aorta(see below my signature for details). Over the past couple of months I have been feeling pains in my heart often when I sneeze, blow my nose, cough, laugh or when I take a deep breath or move in a weird way. I still...

    Sharp Pains

Hi Everyone. It's been a while since I have posted but I want to get your input. I am about 2 yrs post op for my ascending aneurism. My BAV was not replaced at the time because it looked perfect to my surgeon and he thought I could get at least ten more years out of it at that point; however...

    Dizzy

Thanks for all your responses. They make a lot of sense. I may have overdone it, I may be over medicated, it could be an inner ear thing as I swim a lot. All I know is that spinning was scarry and completelt disorienting and left me weak and tired. I'll call my cardio tomorrow and inform him...

    Dizzy

I swam this morning then went down to the beach to play volleyball, where I am now. The weather is very hot. I felt fine after the swim this morning at the gym and after the one volleyball game that I played, about an hour ago. I went in the water after the game, rode a couple of waves, came...

    Occular migraines

It definitely explains a lot - reading this thread as well as the one a few weeks ago. About five months ago (2 months after my surgery) I had one of these and it really scared me. I never had one before and I have not had another since. I do know what set it off though: I was on the...

    Another Surgery...Maybe not?

Hi Sue, My MRI was a long one - 2 hours or so. They injected me with contrast but that was no worse than having your blood drawn. It was uncomfortable but not painful. Looks like you have some discrepency in your test results as well. Interesting how they showed progressively less regurg as...

    Another Surgery...Maybe not?

I agree... I agree... I definitely will go with my surgeon's opinion (and all of your's) and do another echo. Both my cardio and the surgeon reviewed the results of my first echo on CD and did not rely on a technicians's opinion. Both saw significant leakage. Dr. Raissi (surgeon) suggested...
