Hi Sash, I would go for regular cleaning - and make sure you tell the Dentist that you do not want deep - gum cleaning. Of course, no matter which route you go - take the antibiotics (usually amox 4 tablets 500 mg each) .. My dentist recommends twice a year .. just not worth the risk.. my .02 :)

Welcome to the On-X family. Just take good care of yourself. You will be doing regular activity in about 2-3 weeks. Take good care of yourself! Coumadin therapy is pretty straight forward.

Wow.. 9 months .. I think I have had mine for maybe 3 weeks and got treatment. Like you mentioned; the bacteria is definitely killed via antibiotics hence the 2nd blood cultures taken the next day after 1 day of antibiotics showed no growth .. The bigger question is the vegetation on the Onx...

Have you tried getting a 2nd opinion? No matter which route you take, you will be fine. Medicine is evolving every day and valve replacement surgery are showing 99% success rate.

One of the cardio that my wife knows - just said .. "Could be vegetation or shadow from the valve". Arghhh!
