    Loose cough

Hello VR friends! It has been almost NINE months since my Ross Procedure...wow, I can't believe it. I am truly near 100%, but for the chronic loose cough I developed at about month 1 1/2. My surgeon, cardiologist, and primary physician attributed it to a couple of things: SURGERY and allergins...

    Possible homograft...

Hi there- I am not sure if you are locked in with your choice of surgeons, but if not, would recommend you speak to Dr. Oswalt in Austin. Cardiothorasic and Vascular Surgeons, across the street from the Heart Hospital, on Lamar. I would be happy to give you his number if you are interested. He...

    Stitches pushing out?

Hello all- It has been a while since I have posted/logged on and encouraged those about to go through the experience: My apologies. I had my Ross Procedure December 10, 2008. I have been on the rollercoaster from around week 3-present. All in all, I don't feel too terrible, but don't feel the...

    It's push time.

I would say yes, definitely. I believe there are extremely talented surgeons in Ohio, performing Ross. I know of 3 here in Texas, one being my surgeon, John "Chip" Oswalt. There are certainly benefits to the Ross, especially at your age. You may want to ask if you are a good candidate. Best of...

    It's push time.

If you have not looked into the Ross Procedure, please do. Weigh all your options, not just those that are familiar. Just my two cents,

    Too much too soon?

I feel your pain. I am a little over 3 months post-Ross Procedure and am having seasonal allergy, winter cold, flu-like conditions off and on, since. I guess I am really just wanting too much too soon. I have cried to my cardiologist, surgeon, and primary physician about various ailments. Of...

    New Here

A late welcome to you! By far the best site for ANYTHING short of surgery itself. Do not hesitate to ask questions, or just vent.

    Recovery Times

I am going to jump in here, and hopefully not "hijack" the intent of this thread... I am one day from 9 weeks post-op. Generally, my strength/endurance is at least as good, if not better, than pre-surgery. I think my unrelenting cough-starting 3 weeks after sugery and still happening...

Hope I'm Making The Right Decision

I can't expand on the already well covered subject, but am able to relate completely. I am about 10 years younger than you (47) and am 8 weeks post-surgery today! I really didn't feel that bad, either. As a matter of fact, like you, I was really very bummed at the thought of having this major...
