I'd lean toward the alcohol being the culprit rather than the aspirin.

I have gout attacks but haven't had one in a couple of years. Stopped allopurinol a year ago. Use Colcrys or Indomethacin in event of a horrific attack. I've been put on 81mg Baby Aspirin twice a day due to a-fib risk. No probs whatsoever. Due for AVR and 2 Bypasses in a couple of weeks...

I wish you the best. I am headed in next week 4-19 for "the consultation". 2 bypasses and aortic valve replacement. These people dole out very useful info and support. I am thankful for them too. Now.........if I can just get that confidence in "the doctor". May God guide his hands.
