    Home monitoring in Norway?

Maybe you are right and testing once a week is ok. After all, the strips are not on a prescription here in Norway, so they are really expensive  I'll check back here with some results and my overall experience after a while Cheers everyone! Morten

    Controlling vitamin K intake

Since surgery in 2006, ive been using 65mg per week. 2 months ago, the doctor changed it to 67,5mg per week because of some generally low values. (2,0-2.5) Im usually checked every 2 weeks, sometimes more often because my INR is out of range. The problem i've had is that the doctors office...

    Controlling vitamin K intake

Thanks for the good Advice Ross :) Hmm, salads don't have that much effect you say. Interesting. When I think of it, it could have been the soy sauce from eating sushi two nights in a row... soy sauce has alot of vitamin K, correct?

    Controlling vitamin K intake

Hey guys, This may be a silly question, but i'm gonna ask it anyway :) I have a question regarding vitamin K and its effects vs warfarin. I'm wondering how you guys control your vitamin K intake? In my case, it has had a huge effect if I ate salate for lunch three days in a row. Do you guys...

    Home monitoring in Norway?

Thanks guys, AlCapshaw; The price converted in US$ is 1,371.75. This is based on todays currency. I was thinking about measuring my INR every day for a couple of weeks. I think it will help me understand a pattern when it comes to the INR dropping and increasing often. What do you guys think?

    Home monitoring in Norway?

Thanks Lance, I will check this site out. But for your information, Norway is not part of EU :) We have been offered membership several times, but have always declined. I guess I will vote "YES to EU membership" next time if it gets my home monitoring expenses refunded, hehe :D By the way, I...

Choosing valve with active lifestyle and being 21

Hi Luke, I'm new here aswell! I found this forum yesterday, and I must say it's an exellent resource! :) Anyway, I'm 25 years old, and I got a mechanical st.jude valve at the age of 23. The reason i chose a mechanical valve was mainly because a pig valve only has a lifespan of about 10-15...
