Prior to surgery I was diagnosed with a mitral valve prolapse which I was told should not be a big problem, ever. Shortly after my 50th bday my mitral valve burst and I spent three weeks in intensive care before surgery. It was touch and go. I spent another five weeks in CICU followed by three weeks of home recovery. I returned to the hospital for 10 days where I had my gallbladder surgically removed and fortunately my swallow ability had returned as for almost 2 months I was on a feeding tube with NOTHING by mouth.
Biking, travel, golf, hiking, exploring the world with my significant other and visiting my daughter, Son in law and new grandson and generally enjoying life to its fullest.
