I have had aortic valve stenosis since 2007. In 1981, I had strep throat. My entire body including my throat hurt so much when I had that infection. In 1991, my doctor could hear a loud heart murmur which delights doctors and interns even to this day, September 2011.

- In November 2011, I will have my aortic valve replaced. I do not know what type of valve I will choose, nor do I know what kind the doctor will advise. I am female, age 66, and in excellent physical shape.

- Metoprolol 50 mg, one in the morning.
