Was diagnosed with severe mitral regurgitation in Aug 2010. Had no idea that I had any kind of issues prior to that. Went to my internist for a severe cough that was not going away and was driven to the emergency room right away with heart rate at 152 and AFIB.They gave me 3 months time to get the surgery done and after some research narrowed down to Dr.Adams at Mt.Sinai and Dr.Cohn at Brigham and womens. I felt very comfortable with Dr.Cohn and entrusted him with cutting open my heart. I am six months months into my surgeryand feel fine most of the time except for some missed beats here and there. Hope to see more productive years .
