I'm 65 and had my surgery in December 2014. So far no problems at all. I can still do everything I used to, slower now but thats age related! My aortic arch aneurysm was found by accident during a CT scan for something else for which I am very grateful. My aortic valve problem was found by an ect giving an odd reading. After my operation I discovered that my valve actually only had 2 chambers instead of 3, that could have been congenital or damage. My heart was trying to pump hard to get through the deformed valve and this has weakened the part of my heart that does the pumping, but I haven't noticed any problems. All seems to be well!
