I have been diagnosed with a heart murmur from childhood. I am now 73 years old, physically active, and have been tracked by a cardiologist for the past 10 years who originally diagnosed aortic stenosis. Initially it had been diagnosed as mild but during these last few years it has been closing gradually.
My cardiologist has told me that once I feel tired, exhausted, or faint then that is time to consider surgery. I am confused because why do I have to wait until those symptoms appear and my heart is affected. My cardiologist also told me my heart is very strong which is probably is due to the fact that I started exercising with Jane Fonda over 22 years ago!!
I know that cardiac technology is dynamic and I want to be part of the revolution but at the same time I have to wait for symptoms to appear - is this true?

Zumba, strength training, dancing. I work out at gym at least 3-4 days a week. I like to cook too.
