i think the ascending aortic aneurysm still isn't that big of a deal. (from what i have read, descending is where the bigger risks are.)
but when my surgeon started talking about having to cut off the blood supply to my brain for 15-ish minutes and cooling my body down, i freaked out a little...
i got an on-x 2 months ago and am targeted for the same range. (and am on the same warfarin and baby aspirin regimen.)
i've gotten a 1.8 reading a few times as i've been adjusting to the warfarin but this board is making me more comfortable with aiming around 2.5.
(i definitely like the idea...
good luck to you as well. :)
(by the way, my surgery appointment is still about 3 weeks away at this point. right now i've settled down a little but i know the last few days before surgery will probably be stressful again...)
i've known for 30 years that i'd need AVR surgery eventually. i was also surprised that the first week after i found out i had to have it "in the next month or 2", my blood pressure jumped and i had more of a reaction to it than i thought i would.
i also appreciate the accounts i've read on...
