Diagnosed with heart murmur at age 27 at birth of my daughter. The admitting doctor asked if I had any heart condition; had never been told of a problem before this. Saw cardiologist who confirmed murmur/mitral stenosis. Yearly follow-up. By late 30s,diminished stamina, etc. Valve repair performed at age 41. Good result but through time there was deterioration, until I was 55, when replacement was done using ATS valve. I have been fine ever since!
