I would like to once again thank all who have contributed tho the ThrowDown over the past year....it has been a blast for me and helped through some tough times.....Checking back I started trying to lose my belly (got no ass) on 8-23-07 so we are almost at a year...kind of on a lark with SuperBob (actual founder; who?s back I always have) and took off from there....then in walks the Ref (Mary; got her back too) and off we go.....Jack and Wise and Cindy have help me stay WW OP which has added to my overall success........I hesitate to name names for fear of omitting someone and hurting feelings.....if you have ever posted to the ThrowDown you have added to my life and I thank you.

Enough of this walk down memory lane....I here by declare Friday August the 29th as the one year anniversary of the ?The ThrowDown? (I can do that:p).......that means you have six weeks to lose before posting you anniversary total.......good luck and good losing.....I will weigh in the morning and let the chips fall where they may.........

I'm still down a little over a pound - but no more, from my "vacation" loss. I'm just thankful I haven't added it back on and then some.

Still being harassed and cajolled by my Wii Fit.

Almost a year...WOW!!!!....time has flown by...

We finally got a Wii, but due to its popularity we havent been able to buy the Wii fit as they keep selling out...I imagine there are lots of people around who are being hassled by their Wii trainers...LOL...

...if you have ever posted to the ThrowDown you have added to my life and I thank you.

There's the problem. I thought we were trying to subtract.

I'm laid up with a major muscle tear. At first I thought just another strain but then my calf swelled up like a watermellon... Hey did you read where watermellon contains the same chemicals as Viagra? ...and there must have been a lot of internal bleeding because it turned all kinds of purple after a couple days... I'm eating more of it these days, the watermellon that is. Where was I? So I'm sitting in my favorite LazyBoy with a laptop on my lap, first time I've ever actually used it that way, and vegetating for a few days and my mind is just wandering out of boredom. Scuse me while I go get some more watermellon...

Ok the Chimp is swinging in to report a 2 pound loss:D:D.....I attribute this to the massive influx of fresh blueberries, figs and peaches.......this week we have kept them out of pies, cakes and cobblers....for the most part;)......Hey Ref.....fresh figs put prune juice to shame in the purge department:D:p:p

Cooker,
I would never put figs on the banned substance list. They are too delicious!

I'm happy to report that I have kept pace with the Richard Simmons of the Weigh In--Friday ThrowDown:D:D (currently Thursday;)) and have lost two pounds.:)

Jack, I hope you get feeling better quickly, and Karlynn, way to keep the loss down!:)

Ton, you don't need harassment or cajolling!:)

Ton - if you got the Wii Sports games with your Wii, try the boxing - you can really get a good workout doing that. And it gets rid of aggression too!!:D

Jack....take care of that leg....nothing to fool around with....hope you are up and around soon!!

Alright Mary, Karlynn and Ton......it seems everyone is staying the course....WAY TO GO:D:D:D...This weighing on Thursday has been a help because DW goes to her WW meeting on Thursday and then we can splurge or fast which ever the need be:D

Calling all ThrowDowners.....please pray for SuperBob's wife, Allyne.....she is in the hospital for test (see night in the ER thread) and it sounds like it could be serious.......if you don't pray you should.

Our prayers are still with Allyne and SuperBob.

Since everyone is posting their weight, I'll go ahead and post ours.

CINDY:

Starting Weight: 170.4
Last Week: 149
This Week: 147.2
Weekly Change: -1.8
Total Loss: -23.2

WISE:

Starting Weight: 204.8
Last Week: 183
This Week: 181.2
Weekly Change: -1.8
Total Loss: -23.6

So, it's another week which Cindy and I each lose the same amount of weight. I'm amazed how close we've stayed in our losing.

you two rock:D:D:D

Sitting around not able to do anything got to me. I'm up 1.5 lbs undoing all the fractional losses of recent weeks.

I hesitate to post this because I don't want to jinx it. But I've FINALLY gone below the XX0.X to the XX9.X weight on the scale. A tiny victory, but it was so frustrating for me for months that I just couldn't lose those few pounds to get me below the ZERO into the next lower "set of 10" on the scale - so to speak. :D Am I being confusing here?

When we were in KC I was comiserating with my son's MIL about this lovely middle-age time of life when weight loss is next to impossible. She said "If someone told me to lose 2 pounds, it would take me months - if I even could do it. If someone told me to gain 50, I could do it in a week." That about says it for me!

So here's a question - Why has nature put in this whole weight-gain issue along with the pre, peri and post menopausal time of life? Is it because we're no longer fertile and nature wants to make us as unappealing as possible so the males aren't distracted by pretty, but old and infertile women? ;) :D But seriously????

First of all, congrats on the loss:)?..at first I thought you were saying you went from 3X to 2X:D:eek:??Secondly, I can find something appealing about any woman with infertility being toward the top of the list:p??young buff women of fantasy are never reality??I like a woman with some ?junk in the trunk? but hey that?s me?..like we say in the car business??.?there is a seat for every butt???and as with sex the most important part of the anatomy is the six inches between the ears?.;);)

Oh mercy! Even though I didn't share my actual weight I will share that it has been a struggle over the last year to not surge into size 14. I've danced around the cliff tho'. If I tried on something that put me in that size, I just didn't buy it. I know in reality it doesn't make a difference - but for my own self esteem it does! :( Thankfully I think I'm safely in size 12. I've been a size 12 for 10 years, so I'm happy with that. Many many moons ago I was a size 10 - but I've never been below that - even at my skinniest pre-surgery when I was basically a walking broom.

I will say - I do like my men with some meat on them! I met my husband when he was swimming competitively in college. He was a lean, mean, muscled swimming machine. 30 years and 30 pounds later - I think he's much sexier!

Cooker - I have junk in my trunk, but my trunk hangs around my knees!:p

This will sound suspiciously like "the dog ate my homework," but Superbob stepped on his scales today and ... nothing, no reading. (I swear -- this is true.) Evidently the lithium battery needs replacing -- never done that, looks like more than your average battery. Would Superbob be better off just buying a new scale (preferably one that records lower weights)? :D:)

Maybe all this is just as well; not sure what grabbing snacks on the run and in hospital cafeteria may have done to the comparable weight of steel.

I went on some Throw-downer recommendations and got a Weight Watcher's scale and I'm very happy with it. (That reminds me, I forgot to put the 2 old scales out at the garbage.)
