I was being wheeled into -- THE ROOM.

Hi everyone - sorry I don't check in too often, but I guess its a sign of how busy I am. Still doing great although I wish I could lose more weight. I upped my walks from 4 to 5 miles a day a few months back. I rarely miss a day - maybe once a month.

Sailing starts in two weeks -- :D

Amazing how fast a year goes by huh?

Congratulations and welcome to mile post 1. May you have many more to come.

Congratulations!! I hope you continue to be healthy--all that walking is great! :) :D

Thanks for coming on and sharing your happy day with us. Wishing you many, many, many more but the first always seems the most precious.

FANTASTIC!! Lovely to hear from you. Glad that you are so busy and feeling so well.

You are referred to from time to time here because you asked so many excellent questions prior to your surgery, and added so much walking support pre and post surgery -- so even if you aren't able to get onto the forum as much, your presence lives on!! :D

Continue the great life!! Happy Sailing!!

:) Marguerite

Super news!! Wishing you lots of health and a great sailing season!

Marguerite is right. I read your post-op reports about walking etc. I was very helpful to know - my husband walked and walked:) till he was allowed to start cardiac rehab at 3 months out.

All the best

Congratulations and best wishes on your 'first' anniversary. I, too, am a walker though not the distances you walk. You are an inspiration to me to try to go further distances.

Enjoy your summer sailing!!

Congratulations on the anniversary and the great strides in walking. Have a great sailing season- nice to see you enjoying life so much!

Congratulations !

Yeah I guess I asked a LOT of questions before my surgery. As I remember, it was interesting to see how I fared compared to what I was expecting, etc. There is a LOT of knowledge here with the brain trust.

I think THE most important advice I got was about how the heart sometimes can remodel itself post surgery IF you do the right things.

I am not sure if I've announced this here yet ... but in August, 4 of us guys are going to ride our GoldWings to Alaska. We are taking a month to do it and will probably average about 450 miles per day. Just like last summer though, with two trips (Nebraska and then Maine) - I will be getting up before dawn to get my 5 miles in.

AWESOME road trip :).

If your route brings you through Chicagoland, let us know....

And, of course, CONGRATULATIONS on your 1 year anniversary :).

The road trip (via Boat) sounds Amazing!
Make sure to stop back and give updates now and then!

The trip to Alaska on your Goldwing sounds awesome.

I just had my first ride of the season....to Port Dover for the Friday the 13th rally. It's still a wee bit cold! But worth it :D

Keep the rubberside down!

So good to hear your news. I remember how helpful you were to me when I was facing my surgery last June. Here's to many more happily busy years!!! :D
