Dustin, way to go, man! I have an On-X valve, too! It;s working pretty well, though my heart pumps rather strongly! I'm in rehab, now six weeks out. So keep in touch -- we can compare notes.

Dr. Laks at UCLA, supposedly one of the most pre-eminent heart surgeons in the country, told me that with the On-X valve I might not need coumadin in a couple of years. Let';s keep our fiungers crossed!

I keep reading on these posts about everyone so anxious to get off the Pain Meds...Are you all a bunch of addicts? afraid of becoming one? Use the damn drugs! First month was Percosets as needed, then Darvoset....for a few more.Just don't operate Heavy machinery or talk back to your Overly large Spouse!....

Dustin,
So pleased to heasr you are home and doing ok - dont rush your recovery though!
Glad you got your ON-X, as you know, Chloe has had hers 5 years now and it's going strong!!

Lots of love
Emma

Way to go Dustin...! Your on the other side, so sleep, rest, walk and sleep some more! You'll be feeling much better before you know it, sleep for me was not much of a problem, those movies are a godsend (except the boring ones, but you can sleep through those or at least nod off for a few), again way to go and welcome to the other side!

Heya Dustin. Glad to hear you're home & improving. I am too - it will take some time, I think. More time than I thought but slow & steady wins the race....

Chris,

Am I glad to hear from you! It's been a while that we chatted but here we are. We faced our AVR, went into battle and won. :)

I've been watching movies too, out the wazoo. Been fun, though, because we've not rented many movies over the past year so it's fun to catch up.

I've got some friends bombing my appartment with boxes filled with DVD's. You name it, from classics to CSI series. It's alsmost too much, I'm frying my brain watching this stuff all day....

My wife got me an iPod for my birthday (which occured while I was still in hosp.) so I've been having fun getting to understand it and buying songs & adding them. I felt kinda funny because in hospital I wanted NOTHING to do with music or CD's. Only just now am I getting back into listening - and I'm a *musician*! Odd.

The best drug known to man is music.... Your wife made the right choice to buy you a music player. I've been using my iPod for a couple of months and I've rediscovered my collection, from old Buddy Holly records to the latest Coldplay album. Enjoy your new toy!

I've run a 99 degree fever most nights so sleep for me has been on & off, and night sweats have been the norm, too. It does seem to be improving, though.

Again glad to hear you're home & doing ok!

Take it easy and let's hope this fever subsides quickly.

Best wishes,

Netflix

Hey Dustin,

It's great that your friends are bringing you by movies. One of my friends gave me a 2 month membership to netflix and it has been a blast. I just watch a movie put it back in the package and send it off. I have 3 in process at all times. I am allowed to have three at a time but they send the next one of my Que the same day that they get it back from me. It has been fun. I am not usre though how I will do this week. I feel great and watch some tv but usally fall asleep at some point in the show. I don't know if you have netflix in Holland but it has been coold to have.

I agree with you music is the best drug in the world. I had my ipod in the room with me and listened especially at night I had podcasts that and plylist all set up for night time. It was great. I hope all continues to go well with you. I am surprised as I sit here how tired I am from getting up going to the computer and just doing some typing. WOW its's wierd. Again glad that you are home and doing well.

Randy
