Valve *thump* vs valve *click*

I'm one month post op and hear the thump a lot, especially at night when I get up to use the toilet, and the house is quiet. I don't really hear it when I am lying on my back in bed. I have not heard any clicking though.

I've noticed the same exact problem as you. I'm about 11 weeks out and it seems like it has gotten a little better. I've got a St. Jude's mech valve + root + ascending aorta just like yourself. I seem to notice it most when leaning back in a chair or taking big breaths in.

My Aorta valve is a ATS and I have found it to be reasonably quiet, sometimes hear it in bed but like all Mechanical valves it becomes noticeable when my A/Fib acts up.
