Here is an update on my husband.
Things are about the same.. some pretty good days and some bad days. The lung cancer has spread more to the ribs. A couple of weeks ago he had some more radiation treatments.
We had a nice Christmas. My sister was visiting from out of town. Too bad she had to stay in a motel because we have dogs and she is allergic...We had to eat Christmas dinner out.We ended up going to Boomtown Casino and had a wonderful time. My husband was feeling well enough to enjoy the outing. No gambling though, neither of us are gamblers. We both came home for a nap and my sister and her husband went back to feed money in the one arm bandit.
The day after Christmas, we went to the hospital for his chemo treatment. We ended up being there from about 8:30 in the morning to 5:15 P.M. His blood count was very low so he was given a unit of blood. That takes SO long. A couple of weeks ago he was admitted to the hospital, kept over night, and given 3 units of blood. His white blood cell count had been so high and he was running a pretty high temperature. But last week white blood cell count finally went down to almost normal. So they were able to resume
chemo. They have no idea why it went up so high or why it came back down.
So now his temperature is back to normal. But he is in a lot of pain today, even with mega doses of pain meds.He was also sick to his stomach today..that happens after chemo. He is losing so much weight...since last summer he has lost 50 pounds. He went from around 200 pounds to now around 150. He is about 6 feet tall.
Last year at this time it was me looking at open heart surgery. Now it is my husband... and much more sick than that.
We appreciate all the prayers from everyone. We are trying to take it one day at a time. I am still able to work which is good because we need the money for bills, living expenses, and also meds.
