hey guys,

quick update, I had my 6 month followup today with my adult congenital cardiologist and it went well, he says my murmer is about the same and I look good, he didnt do any tests, but says he wants to see me in 2 years and will do an echo then, he's really happy with the results of my ablation, and reemphasized that the skipped beats were normal   and I spoke with him about some chest wall pain that I have been having on my right ribcage (off and on for as long as I can remember) he said its probably related to scar tissue from my chest tubes (I figured as much I've been assuming this for a while)

anyways, everything else is about the same, I'm still working as an RRT at our local hospital, things are going well, I am starting nights on friday, seem to be doing pretty well otherwise,

my asthma is pretty stable at this point, I've been seeing a local asthma specialist and we have worked out a plan, so hopefully we can keep things under control and I can stay off from prednisone, I'm planning on getting my flu shots ASAP (they are offered at work)

so all in all life is good, slightly crazy as usual, but good, LOL

Hey MORGAN!
So glad to hear that things have finally worked out for you and your doing well.
You sound good too.

Don't be a stranger - you can say "hi" more often you know ;)

well, it's about time things started going well for you! Good news about the puppy, and I guess you graduated school, 'cos you said you are working? And not seeing your cardio for 2 years - WOW !!!! Do you have a place of your own, or have you come to some agreement with your mom/dad/parents about living arrangements? Hey, all you need to do now is find some real cute, nice guy and fall in love . . .

Mitral AND Aortic from birth. Just like me. I'm new here, so sorry for asking questions that have already been answered, but when did you get the aortic valve done, and when was the mitral done?

I've had the aortic fixed, going on three times now next week, but never the mitral - they say it's not bad enough, or at least not yet. is that any different, in terms of process or long term diagnosis?

hey third time,
I have had neither of my aortic or mitral valves fixed, I had a sub aortic membrane/stenosis resected in 1991 when I was about 4 yrs old, other than that I am waiting/watching my aortic and mitral valves which will probably need repair/replacement in the next 5-10 years I have mitral stenosis from a parachute mitral valve, and aortic stenosis/regurg from a bicuspid aortic valve, we'll see how things turn out...

Ah, well there you go. Well, I've had aortic valve replaced, and I'm getting the whole aorta, plus the valve, replaced next Wednesday.

I know it's scary to feel like you're counting down to an inevitable, painful procedure. I'm writing about it at http://www.jordansheartsucks.com, and hopefully, if you check it out, you can get some good perspective and follow the story. Hopefully it'll help — i know know what it's like to be young and have to deal with this!
