I had a question from one of my readers about making a mouthwash to stop bleeding. I have known about it for some time but just never took the time to track down all of the information. It is not approved by the FDA, so it is not available in a ready-made product.

I have now done the necessary tracking and made a new web page.

Please look at www.warfarinfo.com/tranexamic.htm

If anyone has had experience with this, I'd appreciate more information.

Al, I am about to have a bridge made after removal of 4 lower front teeth. I am not on warfarin, but I will pass this along to my dentist for his consideration.

Here's another link on aminocaproic acid mouthwash with brand name Amicar.

Should I stop my patient's warfarin prior to a dental procedure?
