Two friends were traveling from the U.S. to Toykyo. One was diverted to Anchorage, Alaska, the other to Osaka. Needless to say, the event they were going to Japan for has been cancelled.
I have several acquaintances who live in Japan, and news has been filtering out. They're OK -- no power, and I'm sure their cell phones will give out soon.
A friend of some acquaintances lives in the area hit hardest, and no word from her yet.

I'm waiting to hear from others.

OMG, what a horrible travesty! We're watching the news as this tragedy unfolds. Hundreds of people dead already.

I have a niece and her family living in Guam. I need to try to see if I can make contact w/her on FB.

Prayers going out to everyone affected!

What a terrible tragedy, so very scary. I hope they get the help needed NOW! So many lives are still at stake.

I have donated some of my OnePass (continental) miles to the Red Cross for relief. I wish there was more I could do.
