Keep your chin up and don't lose hope

Keep your chin up and don't lose hope

Boy do I wish someone would put an end to that darn 3-12 week recovery rumor...

Ok, maybe some folks out there experience such a quick recovery but I sure wasn't one of them! Everyone recovers AT THEIR OWN SPEED. Me, not so fast :tongue2:

Seriously, it took a year to feel "myself" again. I felt ok/decent at 6 months.

Now, I don't want to bum out any newbies/waiting room folk out there, and remember your mileage may vary, we are all unique. But, for those of us who didn't just leap off the gurney and start doing the two-step right away, we shouldn't get bummed out either. I know I did. Many others with surgerys at/about my time were up and about when I was still thinking a walk to the kitchen felt like a long hike :redface2: and I really started to feel like I might never get better. But I did, low and behold, much later than I hoped and at my own pace.

Keep your chin up, rest/walk/rest/walk and don't forget to smile:cool:

Best wishes in your recovery,
Ruth
