Generic Coreg now available

Hi everyone,

Here's something of interest to Coreg users:

A few months ago my cardiologist put me on the new Coreg CR, the time relseased version of Coreg. I guess it's more convenient, but it may not be necessary for everyone. Coreg CR is pretty expensive.

A generic version of Coreg just hit the market, and the drug name is Carvedilol. MUCH cheaper than brand name Coreg. And, here's the best part---it's on Walmart's list of $4 generic drugs! So if you don't really need the time released version of Coreg CR, you can save a lot of money by going with the Carvedilol.

Thanks for the info. I was put on Coreg CR on my last checkup but if I can get generic for $4 instead of CR for $60 a month...I can go back to taking a pill twice a day.

Thanks so much for this information! I also, was recently put on Coreg CR and even with insurance, I still pay $30 for a month's supply. Good to know the generic is available at WM!!!
