I can tell this is going to be very painful.:( :( :(

Not at all....it will feel great. What is painful is having to step across the isle to the Big and Tall section (it is the fat ass section for me). That was the straw that broke the camels back.....never again:mad: We Can Do It!!!!!!!

This is Painful

OK people, enough talk, lets see this getting done. I had a guest email me and say it would be nice if ya'll stop talking and start doing, so there, the Throw Down has begun.

Count me in, Cooker! I just joined Weight Watchers today (along with my daughter) and am looking forward to getting rid of some tonnage:

5'10"
179 lbs (Ugh!)

We've started! We're just chatting and sympathizing until our next weigh-in. We have to have some way to distract us from thoughts of evil calories.

Hubby also has been hinting..:D that I needed to have my eyes checked.:p the old scales are really old..the kind that has the little stripes between every 5 lbs..and has the little wheel to adjust. guess, I hadn't adjusted it correctly..in a long time.:( this new Weight WatchersScale is great. for eyes...1.3 " ..Digital Display......Memory .recalls last 5 weights.. Weight displays in 0.2lb increments...Also comes with a $10.00 off registration for Weight Watchers......Ross, tell your guest.I know this thread is long..but NOT nearly as long as any of our past SEX threads.:D If they are not happy with the ones of us..trying to improve our health after OHS....they don't have to click on:p ..Just leave us alone..We are a support Group..Next week..the thread will be shorter....after we post our week's weight loss:eek: Bonnie

Amen, Bonnie! Plus, we just started. We're excited. I think you're right. As weeks go on, it will settle in a routine. But along the way, I think it can be good to swap some ideas about what's working. :)

I have restarted my Walk Away the Pounds video...dang I am thin as a rail already!!!Ha!!!! Deb This is so great to be accountable to you guys...

Bob..thank you for starting this thread 2 days ago...It has had...682 views and 91 replies...Most members joining in our weight-loss .are members who have over 1,000 posts on VR.Com..So, we are well-educated on the fact..that it is not heathly to be over-weight.. In your first post..You said..at last sentence....But some encouragements and tips from others might make a difference.:) . I think that is what we (older) VR.Com members are trying to do...and hope that your thread will hit home to others.(who may have a few pounds to shed)..For me..it is my 5 beautiful Grandchildren in my Avatar..:) I want to watch them all grow up..go to college and live to see them get married and give me some more G-Grandkids.:D Bonnie

Thanks, Bonnie. Credit for the original idea goes to Cooker, but guess I was the first to accept his challenge. :) I agree with all you've said about the importance of this. I haven't been able to accomplish a lot on the weight front since surgery, but I think this is my best shot. Hopefully others coming along after their surgeries and rehab will find it useful, too.

The weight loss - weigh in!

The weight loss - weigh in!

I'm in - when do we start and where do we post?

We're doing fine also Bonnie. This is the first day I will drink my 8 glasses of water. I sure feel better not eating junk. Keep it up everyone; it will be so worth it!

My day's diet doesn't sound as good as yours, Bonnie. It's been hectic. Got up very early to take granddaughter to first day of school since her parents both are on business trips. Had a bowl of oatmeal, and then since my granddaughter likes the vegetarian sausage, on the way back home I bought some for her breakfast tomorrow and ate two myself after I got back here. Not bad. 80 cals for 2 links.

Lunch -- a piece of low-cal bologna and sliced tomato on whole wheat bread. Not sure what's in that bologna. "mechanically separated turkey" Got to do better than that. Maybe should stock up on Lean Cuisines.

I ate two peanut butter crackers mid-afternon when I felt my blood sugar declining.

Dinner -- a hodgepodge, because my wife said it was too hot to turn on the stove. (Don't blame her.) Picked up a cooked pork tenderloin at local grocery, had a taste of potato salad (but it wasn't very good so threw it away), ate some mac and cheese my wife made for granddaughter, some leftover green beans, and (bad!) one tiny cookie. Lots of iced tea. Not great, but best thing is so far what I've not eaten -- no scones or muffins with the coffee (though I crave them; see avatar : ) Big test will be bedtime tonight. I bought some low-fat cheddar cheese sticks. Maybe that will fill me up. Hoping for at least 2 pounds progress by Monday.
