Cardio Thoracic surgeons in Southern Calif.

HI all.. I am another newbie to this list.. i have been searching for a surgeon who does the minimally invasive thoracotomy between the ribs for mitral valve repair. So far.. i haven't found one . ANd i have called quite a few heart centers etc. Is there anyone on this list that lives in Southern Calif that can provide info. on this.?

Did you call the UCLA Hospital?

Dr. Laks is a well known CT Surgeon there but I'm not sure if he does minimally invasisve surgery.

I think Dr. Vaughn Starnes performed the surgery for the member mentioned, and for at least one other member that I know of.

I had that surgery for AVR. My surgeon was Dr. Daniel Bethencourt. He also does repairs with the da Vinci robot that only require a few keyhole size incisions. PM me if you'd like more info.
