Happy to share that 3 years passed since surgery. Heart function back to normal. Ejection fraction 60%+. An improvement from 35%+ pre surgery. Cardio is happy. Now back to 2 year visit schedule with Cardio. Feels nervous every time Cardio visit is approaching :) so glad to see him recommend 2 year schedule. Warfarin treatment is surprisingly easy and uneventful so far except for occasional blips. Went with on-x mechanical given that I am 37 at the time of surgery and this was my third surgery. Previous two are related to PDA and VSD. Regular exercise schedule. 15 miles biking or two miles of running. Hope this helps some of you as you think about surgery, choice of valves etc.

You kids never cease to make me smile! Thanks for coming around to let others know that there really is GOOD life after surgery. All you have to do is your best at it.

Keep up the good work!
