    7 months out and still don't feel good...not normal like before surgery

    Hi...I felt good before surgery...and since surgery for the silent killer :two aortic aneurysms" I have not felt good. I'm always coming down with something...shingles, cold, bronchitis, now a sinus infection. I just have not bounced back after surgery. Has anyone else had this situation...

    Has anyone had to get steroid shots in their incision???

    It's been 5 months since my surgery. My incision is very red, itches, and sore to the touch. My cardiologist gave me a referral to a dermatologist for steroid shots. I haven't went yet, I can only imagine how it's going to hurt!!! Carol

    I was hospitialized for 4 four days due to "Mycardial Stunning"

    Almost 7 weeks post surgery, spiked a 102 fever today and a real bad cough

    The z-pac I got on 9 May did not do the trick. Today the doc put me on Biaxin and said if I don't feel better by next Wed I will get a chest xray. Hopefully this will clear up the bronchitis this time. I figured by 7 weeks I'd be well on my to living my life. Carol

    5 weeks post op and now I have bronchitis!

    Last week I started having this terrible post nasal drip, then a bad wet cough started three days ago. So I thought I'd better take a trip to the docs. Doc said if I'm not doing better by Wed, I have to have a chest xray. Hopefully it will clear up. Carol

    How long after surgery did you wait before you had a glass of wine or beer?

    How long before you can floss after surgery

    In the hospital they would not let me floss, I really would like to floss but it's been three weeks and I know it's going to bleed. Carol

    Has anyone experienced a dry cough after surgery???

    I have a dry cough and it just kills me when I cough. It will be 3 weeks this Tues post surgery. If it weren't for the dry cough I'd feel much better.

    Is it really 30 days before you can drive?

    I just don't know how I can wait the entire 30 days until I can drive. I live alone and don't have a someone to take me to work. I would like to start working a few hours a day at about the 3.5 week mark. Anyone else drive sooner? Carol

    10 Days post surgey...questions about throat

    (I guess) My throat is still irriated from the breathing tube and TEE down my throat...also I aspirate alot and it's makes me cough and my throat tickles. When I take a breath through my mouth it makes me cough. Has anyone experienced this and what do you do for it? Thanks Carol

    Three days to sugery...thanks for the support...

    I have to be at the hospital 5 Apr at 0445. This is my last weekend before surgery but I'm still sleeping ok. I know it sound funny, but I'm excited to get it over with!!!! God Bless all of you and thanks for your support. Carol

    Surgery is set for 5 April 2011

    Surgeon told me that valve selection is a personal choice and it's mine to make. I think I'm going with the Mechanical Valve, don't want to go through this again...I'm 56. I also will have the aortic root replaced. Wish me luck!
