Harry, I am soo very sorry to hear this. I truly feel for you, having had some ''BAD'' experiences in my local hospital recently, I know exactly how you are feeling. I truly dont know what to suggest you should do, but know that I am praying for you (((((HUGS))))) x

Hi Harry ~ I'm so sorry to hear you're having more health problems, and that you got such poor treatment by the hospital you went to. I agree with Dtread. You definitely need to be taken care of medically. A blood pressure of 197/146 could cause a stroke. Call and see if the first hospital you went to can take you now, or go to another one if there are any within a not too far driving distance.
Because of the way you were treated at the hospital you went to, i wouldn't recommend going back there unless you have no other alternative.

My best wishes and prayers are with you Harry. I hope you get some good care soon and they find out what is going on. Let us know what happens.

Hugs,

Dawn-Marie

Yikes!!! I hope things work out. Definitely go back to the first hospital and try to have someone see you there since the second hospital doesn't seem up to snuff.

I just read this...and I pitching in with everyone -don't let those idiots
prevent you from seeking help-its not going to hurt them, they are too
dim too even know they did something wrong:rolleyes:
If your symptoms stay the same or worsen......Please go somewhere
else, even if you have to wait or talk to dummies over and over again.
Wishing you well-Dina

You should be seen by someone. Try going back to the first hospital. Your blood pressure needs to be handled, and all the other problems. I know you know all this. Let us know how you are. Prayers for you.

Just catching up on this, Harry. Sorry to hear about your experience but I echo what's been said. Don't let emotions get in the way of getting the help you need. Get back, and get help. I hope it all works out for you.

Harry, I'm sorry for your frustrating day. ER's can be an exercise in futility. However, if you truly feel that something is going on that you need help with, I think you should go back. Did you try and call your Dr's office while all this was going on? I would call their service before I headed back and see if they can't intervene on your behalf.

I feel your frustration and I wish you the best at getting it taken care of.

Kim

Harry, bless your heart. I wish I was there I would take you to the hospital and believe me they would take care of you. I can be very forceful if I have too. Hospital's don't like law suites. Ask for the charge nurse immediately and demand to be taken care of. Also like someone else said call 911. Please don't wait to get your blood pressure under control, you could have a stroke. Hugs & prayers are coming your way.

I am NOT condoning your treatment at the hospital you went to Harry, but I must say that in my experience of ED's, an hour is not an uncommon time to have to wait.....I have several times waited that long and more to get things happening when I've visited the ED in the past.
I think you have been given some very good advice here - you know that you need to get your problems addressed, so it means taking a deep breath and getting yourself back in to a hospital.
You will have to be prepared for a lengthy wait - if ED's in the States are anything like they are in NZ, which I'm sure is true, the Christmas/New Year period is absolutely one of their busiest times of the year, they are totally run off their feet...
Do you have 24 hour private Accident and Emergency Clinics in your area - not exactly a hospital but a place where people can go to get assessed, and if necessary, transferred quickly to a hospital for admission? In the larger cities in NZ we have these clinics, and if you are seen at them, your admission to hospital (if necessary) will be expedited a lot more quickly and smoothly.
I hope you get this sorted out Harry - is there anyone who could go with you to the hospital to advocate for you? A support person is a "rock" at times like this.

Good luck
Bridgette

*Any news Harry? You were my last thought last night before going asleep, I offered up a prayer for you, and I couldnt get down the stairs fast enough thismorning to see how you are doing.
I just wish I had been there to help you.

Well Gang, My Blood Pressure At This Point

Well Gang, My Blood Pressure At This Point

Is back down to 131/79 with a pulse of 64, so we shall see what happens in the next couple of hours. I do intend on going back to the first hospital (Wentworth Douglass Hospital) if my BP rises again, as I do want to get this resolved. I am keeping a very close eye on my blood pressure readings and I am going to keep a spreadsheet going with my blood pressures so that I can take them to the hospital with me should I need to go, and thus show the doctors what's going on. I am thrilled that my pressures are down though.....Harrybaby:D:D:D

Harry, I'm glad your BP is back down! Whew!

I use a free MS Excel spread sheet template to track my BP...easy to use and works great.

Get it here.

Best wishes,

Jim

I really appreciate the link as I think this might prove to the doctors that something is wrong. Thanks again, Harrybaby:D:D:D

Great news Harry. Now rest up and take it easy. Dont fret yourself about the hospital visit (that wont help your bp). But if 'ANYTHING' like that happens again, dial 911. Best wishes.

Harry, haven't been on to read your posts. Sorry to read you weren't feeling well and the terrible time you had getting treatment. I am glad to read you are doing better. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Dear Harry, Your story and others like it tend to get my blood pressure up! I'm relieved to hear your pressures are back down, and think the spread sheet is a great idea! You are often in my thoughts, and ever in my prayers. Your valve bro, Brian

Sorry to hear about your experience in emerg Harry -- and I hope that your blood pressure stays stable. No blowing a gasket!

Sometimes our Canadian emergs are like that and we just have to wait and/or be persistantly in their face. Looking after you is their job after all!
