Ours is real. Maurice and Simon (the kitties) are being very good. Have always had a real tree, then right after Christmas it goes to our county sanitation dept who then make mulch from it, which is given away free the entire year.

Remember the color wheels?

Remember the color wheels?

Mine is a artificial aluminum tree from the old, old, days. It took me a couple of years to find one that was still in good shape but nothing reminds me more of my childhood Christmas days than sitting in a dark room, watching the light from the rotating color wheel change the tree from red to blue to orange to green to silver to red to blue....ahhhhhh.

You know, I don't understand all the commotion about trees. Heck, I just put the thing away and it was time to get it out again. Get an artificial tree and leave it be year round. That way, you don't have to fuss with anything come Christmas time.

OMG, I remember those oldies with the coloured light wheel underneath!

Ross, my hubby has a great idea....we grow evergreens as a windbreak and have planted over 100 in the last 3 years.
Next fall, Hubby will transplant a small 2-3 foot baby tree into a large planter pot with soil and bring it in for winter and Christmas, then in spring it can go back outside.
No killing involved!

Real of course ... It has to be real. It's traditional and smells nice and looks nice and gives the farmer who grows them a nice little side line too. It's always a nice trip out to choose one and negotiate it into the car ! Merry Christmas naturals and fakers alike !

Artificial. Always had real up until last Christmas. Got tired of wrestling dirty and wet real ones into the back of the convertible to get them home and through the house to set up without destroying the place:)! Santa doesn't seem to mind:D.

Pretty tree!

I normally have a small artificial tree, but after having my cats knock it over twice last year, i decided not to put it up this year. I don't do anything at all for Christmas, since i have no family, so it doesn't matter anyway. Your pictures of your trees are beautiful!!

I know,I felt the same since its just me and my husband and then at
the last minute(2 days ago),got one anyway.I got a small living one.
I have gotten these before but for some reason I can't keep them
alive more than 4 or 5 months. I even change the soil and put it in
a larger container. It still never makes it. I figure I will try one more time.
Like Bina,I don't like to see dead trees. Esp. in the city where you see
rows of dead trees on the sidewalk, kinda makes me think of the "Velveteen
Rabbit" when he is sitting in the garbage. Sad. So I will try another year
to keep the darn thing alive!!
Any suggestions?

Fake here. The apt. complex doesn't allow real ones. Got ours for our first Christmas as a married couple from Wal-Mart for $20 bucks. Looks like we'll inherit my parents' beautiful fake tree once Mike and I get a house.

Our cat just sleeps under ours. Notice the "paw" shaped stocking in the foreground of my pic....that's where Jessie (our cat) plops herself down to sleep. We never trained her that way. It seems she figured out that stocking was hers and every year where ever we place it under the tree, that's where she plops herself down to take a catnap.

I finally got around to decorating our (artificial, pre-lit) tree Monday night...after the doggy gift exchange. Jet and Tank are gonna love Xmas morning!
That's a camouflage can coozie on top.

Our tree is fake. I never had a real one growing up and don't miss having one now. The one we have up is a hand-me-down from my grandmother. It's a bit Charlie Brown (it leans to one side and has a couple of bare spots), but it works. We're too lazy to go out and get a new one. ;)

Nathan keeps saying we have to have a real tree at least once when our kids are little. I disagree. I see no point to inviting allergens and bugs into my house. Not to mention the mess from the needles and having to remember to water it. I have a hard enough time with my Ivy plant!

Is it or ins't it

Is it or ins't it

I put up a fake tree this year, the one thing that I really enjoy is no messy needles to clean up. I have tried to upload a picture buy I can't get it to work.
