Please keep our dear Sherry and her husband Stacey in your thoughts and prayers during this time as he will be having more specific imaging tests today and most likely be having surgery tomorrow.

Some of you recently met them both in Pigeon Forge..

Thanks for letting us know so we can keep them both in our prayers, Janie.

Sherry and Stacey certainly have our prayers. They are such nice and warm people. Wishing all the best during this time of tests/surgery.

Hey Janie, Thanks for letting us know about this.
Sherry and Stacey are in my thoughts and prayers.

he's out of surgery

he's out of surgery

Hello, folks, and thanks for your thoughts and prayers. Stacey has been out of surgery for almost an hour, and the surgeon said he cut out an acorn-sized tumor from his small intestine and then resected three inches of the intestine. The tumor will be checked by a pathologist for any malignancies. He's resting comfortably now, and since the hospital has wi-fi, I thought I'd get on here and post his progress.

The lead up to this as been some pretty serious stomach cramping/vomiting episodes for some time. The problem is that the episodes were happening more frequently and with more intensity. A bout of this started last Friday and lasted well into Saturday afternoon. He was so miserable that he couldn't stand. I got him in the car and took him to the ER. They ran a CT scan with dye and found the blockage. He was then admitted for more tests and then the surgery took place this morning. He had had full body radiation 13 years ago when he had his bone marrow transplant, and the surgeon believes that was the culprit.

I will keep everyone updated as to his progress, and really, I can't thank you enough for all your kind words. Thanks, Janie, for posting this thread. :)
