After all the weeping and wailing I did in 2016, I turned it around and did fairly well in 2017. I had 3 MDs and 2 PTs tell me I'd never run again due to spinal arthritis, so I walk instead, and bike and swim (and maybe sneak in the occasional short run). In one 5K I ran mi 1, walked mi 2, and ran mi 3. It felt good. In all, I was able to do 10 races this year, including my new favorite, the beer mile. Plus, one new event, I tried my first short triathlon and loved it.
In total, I did 540 miles walking, 250 miles biking and 125 miles swimming. Oh, and it's a bit embarrassing, but I slacked off a bit on the pushups, only 14,600 for the whole year. I turn 70 in a few weeks, so have a new incentive to do even better.

That's awesome! Way to go and prove them wrong.
So glad you are staying active and making the most of life.

It's been nice to see you pop up on the USMS forum and follow your progress with your swimming. Good luck in the coming year.
