What does the surgeon say about it, or the cardiologist? If need be, they can do several diagnostic tests to determine that all is well, or if there is a problem. It is also possible to measure the oxygen saturation volume and that's as easy as pie to do.

A certain amount normal and is to be expected and will gradually go away with the use of the spirometer and walking to get some aerobic benefit and you really have to force yourself to do that because the natural instinct is not to. The heart and lungs have to shape up.

But if the breathlessness is significant, better hit the phone to the doctor's office. They're the only ones who can figure it out.

Good luck and let us know how things go.

Nancy is right! But I might add that if your sob is significant... please.... GO TO THE ER!!! Don't wait to call your cardio... just go. Even if it proves to be nothing... it is better to err on the safe side!

Take care,
Zazzy

Incentive Spiramoter...

Incentive Spiramoter...

Kevin has to use his Incentive Spirometer. Did you get one in the hospital? And, Most importantly, Are you using it atleast 10x's an hour? Very important! Kevin runs to his when he gets out of breath. Of course, he's not using it like he's supposed to! He'll get a spanking later (once he's up for one...). He he! :)

When all else fails, CALL your DOCTOR and/or NURSE and ask them! (IMMEDIATELY)

Good Luck to you!
