relapsing pericarditis

Hi,this is a really good sitebut as i am new to this computer technology i hope i am doing this right.I was wondering if anyone is havung problems with relapsing pericarditis since having an AVR in 98 and am now being treated with the dreaded steroids.

My surgery was June, 1998 and I had that problem beginning 8 weeks after surgery. The last bout was December, 2000, so I am hoping that I am through with it. The doctor seems to think so, but I want at least a year without it. I had 9 months before the last episode. Once Vioxx was available, I didn't have to take Prednisone anymore, and it didn't affect my INR at all. Ask your doctor! I gained 30 pounds in the 9 months I was on Prednisone and I'm still trying to lose it!
