Persistent left superior vena cava?

Hi folks. I had my 6 month echo yesterday. It was interesting because the echo tech was a student and her instructor was in the room providing instruction and feedback. The instructor made a big deal (over-stated, but she was moderately excited) about the presence of my "persistent left superior vena cava." The instructor suggested I do some research on-line and I agreed. Anyone else have this? Did it effect the timing of your surgery?

I don't know if I had it prior to replacement, but for several years post-op, mention was made of my "noticeably enlarged left superior vena cava". I never could get a good answer from the cardiologist as to what that signified, but my new:wink2: female cardio said it was absent from my last report.
If you find out more, I hope you'll share.
