Yep, it's been four years since Northwestern Memorial Hospital gave me my new lease on life with a bovine valve to replace my stenotic, already-repaired-once valve. The Monday of Thanksgiving week will forever remind me and my wife of it. So, given that Thanksgiving week is also my valve anniversary, I am thankful for:

1) Doc McGee, Doc Russell, and the rest of the surgical team for doing their magic.
2) The NWMH nurses, who were outstanding. Angels in white.
3) The selfless cow out there who gave his life so that I can continue mine.
4) You folks on this website, whose support is helpful to so many people, myself included.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. Hope to be writing a year from now about number five.
