Here we go again. I recently posted to let all of you know that my recovery is on it's way. I have been improving daily. Got good new on the infection. IT'S GONE. Things are looking up but found out that my beloved step- mother is facing possible heart surgery. Friday they are doing heart cath. She has been sick for a while and has CHF. Tests showed the sac around her heart has fluid and she has had mitral valve prolapse since 1984. It is worrying all of us because I have just went thru mitral valve replacement and she is going thru all the symptoms like I had over the past year. The lasix is helping and she has lost some weight. The dr thinks there might also be some blockage and the cath will be able to tells us what needs to be done. Our family has been thru alot not just with my heart surgeries but I have 2 sisters that have had their share of sickness. Now our #1 is ill. Please say a prayer for us. I will post to keep you updated. Thanks for all your posts and support you have given me. My mother passed away in 2000 with heart disease and now my step-mother is facing it now. So you see we have had heart disease all around the family. I'll let you know the reults.

I certainly will. Look at this way, if they get you all fixed up, all of you should live to be ????????? old.

Hi Mary-

Your stepmother will be in my thoughts and prayers. You will be a comfort to her after all that you have been through. And you've come out a "champ".

I'm sure after surgery, she'll be feeling so much better. Keep us posted and let us know the date of any surgery, and we'll put her on the calendar.

And BIG congratulations on all of your good news.

God Bless.

Great news!!

Great news!!

Just had to let you know that mom's heart cath went great. The good news is she wont have to have open heart. There was no blockage, no cancer, no infection. Just some fluid build up around the heart that the Dr. said can be treated with medication. Her valve has minimal leakage and heart is strong and blood is flowing well. WHAT A RELIEF!!! She had been ill with the flu and pnemonia and they think that it caused the fluid to build up. Thank you for your prayers and believe it or not, miracles do happen. I am so happy. :) :) Thanks everyone.

That's great news Mary!

I'm sure that's a big relief for everyone. Sometimes caths bring good news instead of bad!
