"By the way, I picked up my personal INR measurement kit on Friday (which comes complimentary when you have a St Jude's Valve inserted)."

Saw this post from colsha in the Post-Surgery section. Is that complimentary kit only for those in Australia? I have a St. Jude valve and would like to be able to test at home. Has anyone in the US gotten one of these complimentary because of a St. Jude valve?

Mayo clinic and St. Jude had been doing it for a while. Don't know if they still do or not.

I'll bet it's not exactly "complimentary" from the Mayo or Cleveland. There's no such thing as a free lunch (or Dracula kit) in the U.S. I'll bet the price is figured in somewhere, some way.

If I stay on the trial and get randomized to warfarin I think I get a free INR kit. Don't tell anyone or everybody will want on the trial.LOL.
