Got my echo results. Don't understand what they mean. I am going for a heart cath Friday then surgery. From what I have read here it is better to get this done before my symptoms get to bad. I still have an Ejection Fraction of 74%. When I was sick and lost my legs it was 15%. Don't know what the other numbers mean but my cardiologist said I should get it done while my heart is still functioning pretty well. Let me know what other numbers are pertinent and what they should be. I have a lot of trust in my doc so I would just like to know what others think of my results. I also have a website to keep people informed. It is www.caringbridge.org/visit/patdunham

My ejection Fraction stayed around 60% but my Aortic Valve Area had shrunk down to .8 cm and I was dealing with strong symptoms.
The peak gradient and mean gradient numbers will rise as the valve is compromised and struggling.
Best wishes going forward !
