I read the following in Medscape and thought it might be interesting to those on warfarin contemplating taking ginseng:

Because ginseng affects the coagulation cascade, inhibiting platelet aggregation and increasing thrombin time and activated partial thromboplastin time, its use in patients with bleeding disorders is not recommended. Some studies have shown that ginseng's inhibition of platelet aggregation is possibly irreversible. Because it directly increases warfarin clearance, coadministration is contraindicated.
