This probably shouldn't mean 'no more lab.' For the first many years that I was self-testing, I didn't want to bother with a lab - but it's useful to do a blood draw once every few months (or so), just to compare your meter's results to those of a lab. In my experience, my XS machines gave results that were slightly higher than the labs. I don't know what your range is, but if I ONLY tested with the XS, I'd be most comfortable with a 2.5 or above. (In my experience, the XS gave results that were slightly higher than the hospital lab that I go to).

I'm sure that you'll enjoy the XS. Being able to self-test is empowering, and feels great, especially your first few times.
