I am going in for a routine colonoscopy on 5/12.

Going on a Lovanox bridge once Coumadin is stopped.

I also had a bowel resection in 08 due to diverticulitis bursting.

This is my first colonoscopy since that surgery and my heart surgery.
I am curious as to other experience with colonoscopy procedures after heart surgery

Hi,

I have had to use Lovanox twice since my first open heart surgery. Once for a colonoscopy, and another time for a different procedure prior to my second open heart surgery.
I didn't have any issues. If you home test your INR, you cannot rely on your home monitor while on Lovanox. And as you get back onto your Coumadin, you will have to have more frequent INR tests for the first few weeks until you are again stable with your Coumadin dose.
