Consistant exercise and INR

Hi all,

Most of us have experienced lower INR's with increased activity and exercise. Just wanted to post this quick little poll to see where most of us land.
 
Hey Gina,
I haven't noticed any change in my INR and I walk everyday and go to the gym 3 days a week.

Starting to feel real good about the exercise. Just aprehensive about the INR portion of it!

Always able to remain with correct range.
I believe exercise contributes to maintaining
proper PT/INR results.

It is important, however, that you stay sufficiently
hydrated. That means drinking adequate fluids
in the form of water or a sports drink both before
and after working out.

Working out will also help you mentally be more alive.

Hit the health club, Gina, you'll be glad you did.

Hope all is well with you! Have been loving it thus far! Been very thirsty the last few days. Drinking alot of water. I am also tasting the salt in food? Wonder what that signifies?

Anyway, thank you for the pointers. Hoping for the best!

Gina:

Sounds like you are really into exercising.
That's terrific. Your body and heart will thank you.

I certainly do not profess to be a personal trainer or anything
close to such. Have only learned from experience that you
must condition your body to get used to taking fluids
before, during and after exercising to minimize dehydration.

If you feel thirsty (dry mouth) it is already too late.
Consuming liquids immediately before hitting the pavement,
treadmill, bike wouldn't suffice either.

Dehydration can cause everything from increased heart
rate, reduced mental function and skill level. Not good.

Avoid caffeine and carbonated drinks.

Have found PROPEL FITNESS WATER to be a great thirst
quencher. It has very little sodium, but, alot of Potassium.

Cool fresh water is probably always the best.

Energy bars can have an impact on your efforts as well.

It has been proven, people with a higher level of fitness
enjoy a better quality of life than do less fit individuals.

The following article may shed some light on the subject.
 
3-4 days per week at the gym and 2-3 runs per week and my INR is steady at 3.0-3.5. (and a couple glasses of red wine at dinner 3-4 times per week).
